A big change for Mitsuru, this one is about swimming.
Keisuke Yamato and Ami Ninomiya are the son and daughter of two rival pastry stores. Keisuke is the national 3rd place free style winner, and Ami is a high-dive protege. However, Ami's father, a stubborn man who hates everything Yamato have already found a good suiter for her-the Japan national 100M and 200M free style swimming record holder Hiroki Nakanishi. Nakanishi grew up with Ami, so they are very close.
Later, when Ami had an accident in the sea and almost drowned, both Keisuke and Hiroki raced to save her. Of course, Keisuke lost. Knowing how painful it is that his most proud skill can't even save the girl he loves, Keisuke stops viewing Nakanishi as an idol, and decides to train hard to beat him. The ending is very interesting, let's just say it's either you love it or hate it.
This's my favorite Adachi manga. Not only is the art great, the character development and story tops any TV show. Funny and emotional at the same time.
